Meet Atalya, the epitome of sweetness and resilience. This charming girl was discovered in a Houston apartment complex with her leg partially severed but miraculously still attached. Unbeknownst to the rescue community, the complex faced an overpopulation crisis that led unknown individuals to resort to poisoning stray cats in the area.

Cat Whisper Rescue stepped in when a concerned citizen alerted us to the distressing situation, where kittens were being found dead or injured. Atalya, along with one other fortunate kitten, was trapped just in the nick of time. Unfortunately, several other kittens had already succumbed to poisoning or other mysterious causes.

While the circumstances surrounding Atalya's severed leg remain unknown, the absence of other abrasions led the treating veterinarian to suspect intentional harm. Following the amputation of her leg, this resilient girl has not only survived but thrived. Atalya is now spayed, boasting a clean bill of health, and all she craves is a loving forever home with a family eager to shower her with affectionate pettings.
